2008 Top Prospects: Week 2
By R.C.

Here's your week 2 top 15 list. You'll notice quite a bit of movement this week. Big performances were abundant and propelled guys like Dan Conner up the list and Dennis Dixon onto the list for the first time. Glen Dorsey offered us a dominant performance and Brohm is still himself even if he hasn't played anyone yet. Without further adu...

The Top 15:

1) Darren Mcfadden (RB – Arkansas)
Was off this week, so we will see what he has saved up for a big game this week at Alabama.

2) Glen Dorsey (DT – LSU)
Anyone that saw the game Saturday will agree with this. Dorsey is simply dominating, as is the rest of his defense. He has a legitimate chance to end up the overall #1 pick next year – defensive tackles like him don't come around very often.

3) Brian Brohm (QB – Louisville)
His statistics are getting ridiculous. I'm ready for him to play a tougher team, though. It'll be interesting to see what happens when he plays someone besides the sisters of the poor, though.

4) Dan Conner (LB – Penn State)
Had an absolutely huge day against Notre Dame. He was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, and rightfully so. He had 12 tackles, 8 solos, 2 tackles for a loss, and a sack. Wow.

5) DeSean Jackson (WR – California)
Another week, another jaw-dropping play. This time it was a run for 73 yards that impressed.

6) QB Andre Woodson (QB- Kentucky)
He jumps so much because the more I watch this guy the more I like him. He just impresses (even against Kent State). He has that presence you want in a QB – and his stats weren't bad, either: 15/22 for 218 yards and two passing TD's (he also threw in a rushing TD for good measure).

7) Early Doucet (WR – LSU)
His stats weren't eye-popping, but he's still such a good player. Several times I looked up and saw him putting D-backs on the ground in the running game. Jackson is the only other receiver in the country I'd take over him.

8) Derrick Harvey (DE – Florida)
Hasn't been dominating, but does have 2 sacks already this year.

9) Dennis Dixon (QB-Oregon)
I know Michigan is bad, but Dixon accounted for almost 370 total yards and 4 TD's. Are you kidding me? I kept watching even after Oregon had the game wrapped up because I wanted to see what Dixon was going to do next.

10) Steve Slaton (RB – West Virginia)
Don't be surprised if you see him fall far next week. He looked very average against a very poor Marshall defense. His stats ended up solid because of a few long runs in the second half, but he did nothing in the first half.

11) Limas Sweed (WR – Texas)
Struggled against TCU, but we won't lay it all on his shoulders. He played well the first week and still has big time potential, but he must produce more than the 4 catches for 26 yards he gave Texas last week.

12) Matt Ryan (QB – Boston College)
He looked terrible this week. In a big game against his former coach, I expected more out of a guy that I was really speaking highly of. He was wildly inconsistent, and just made some bad decisions.

13) Adarious Bowman (WR – Oklahoma State)
OSU won huge, and Bowman was a primary reason why. He had a huge day with 6 receptions for 135 yards and 2 TD's, despite losing starting QB Bobby Reid after the first quarter.

14) Felix Jones (RB – Arkansas)
Same as Mcfadden: was off this last week with a big game at Alabama looming.

15) Will Dunbar (S – UAB)
Your wondering who this guy is, but don’t worry. Dunbar has been a well known name among Conference USA circles because of his ability and nasty hits. Luckily for everyone else, he got a chance to show out against FSU last weekend and did he ever. Posting 17 tackles and an interception returned 21 yards for a score, we had no choice to put him on the list. Even more impressive is how valuable he is to the Blazers defense, as they gave up 55 points to Michigan State without him. With him, they nearly pulled off an upset over FSU in Tallahassee!
