Free March Madness Picks: Saturday Round 2
By Ron Jumper
With the tournament going according to plan for the most part, I hope to keep the success going. Saturday offers a great collection of matchups for all your NCAA needs. With the first round going primarily by seeding, expect a few upsets to sneak up for Saturday. I have a few upset specials lined up for your enjoyment.
NCAA Tournament Record: 7-2-1
Maryland (-6) covers vs. Butler
The Terps took Davidson's best shot and went on to win by 12. Butler looked solid against Old Dominion. However, expect the Terps athleticism to be the key factor in this game. Their length and quickness will be too much for Butler's Graves. If Graves isn't playing well, the Bulldogs can't win. Terps 66-54
VCU (+7.5) covers vs. Pitt
The Rams are the BETTER team. There I said it. Laugh if you like, Duke sure isn't... VCU 67-65
Ohio State (-8) covers vs. Xavier
I don't see anyway this game is close. Oden will dominate the paint and lead the Buckeyes to an easy victory. Xavier has to shoot lights out, but don't bet on it. OSU 75-55
Vanderbilt (+1.5) covers vs. Washington State
I have no faith in Washington State. I repeat, I have no faith in Washington State. This game is simple, it is one of the few times Vanderbilt is the more athletic team. We all know how talented Vandy is, don't expect a nail-biter. Vandy 71-60
Louisville (+1.5) covers vs. Texas A&M
The Cardinals are hot and A&M, well... they aren't. I expect this game to shock the world, everyone has the Aggies going deep in the dance. Don't forget this is a virtual home game for the Cardinals. Louisville 57-56
