So the Big East has been scrutinized a lot over the years, not as much as the Big Ten but a lot. This year, with most of the teams in the conference not expecting to even be as good as they were in 2008, the magnifying glass should be focused on the Big East once again. Gone is Pat White, one of the best players in Big East history, also gone is Rutgers’ trio of QB Mike Teel, WR Kenny Brit, and WR Tiquan Underwood. Who will step up and emerge as the top players in the Big East?
South Florida appears to have the most proven talent, with senior QB Matt Grothe and senior DE George Selvie, but they have been classic underachievers. The Bearcats made a BCS run in 2008, but lose 10 starters on defense. If the games are shootouts, that could bode well for fantasy owners.
